getting old!

Oh my, I may only be 32, but tonight I am feeling much older! While growing up I never cared about my health. Now that I have children and am getting close to the age my Mom was when she had her first heart attack, I am now concerned.

I watch The View in the mornings (love Elizabeth, can't stand Joy!) and Barbara Walters has been talking a lot about heart health since her valve replacement last year.

Since heart disease runs in my Moms' side of the family, I went in to see my doctor to have some tests done. I told her I wanted all tests available that my insurance would cover done and she did. She called me tonight to tell me the results. Everything looked great (which surprised both of us)...

except...

My triglycerides. Those aren't too hot. I am considered in the high category and after talking with her, we decided to try to change my diet before trying any pills. Pretty much nothing that comes in a package should pass my lips anymore. Definitely no fast food.

We don't eat a lot of boxed dinners. We do use a lot of boxed food for lunch though. So no more top ramen for me! We also love to eat eggs in the morning. Especially runny eggs for me. That part will be tough, but I love cereal and I can eat my favorites - frosted mini-wheats and honey nut Cheerios. Lots of changes are about to happen in my household, but the benefits way out number the cons (though I am sure I will be complaining about it soon.)

I have already lost 8 lbs since I started working out a month ago. I have been using my Wii fit and just began Hip Hop Abs on Monday.

With the food intake changing, my weight loss is going to take off!
